Where it all began

The late 1990s—a technological revolution was brewing, and as a teenager in rural Appalachia, I was hooked. I count myself fortunate to be coming of age during such a transformative moment. My passion for software began with a desire to solve real problems for my family through technology, and the joyous arrival of our first family PC running Windows 95 affirmed that I was on the right path.

Where we are now

And, as it turns out, we remain in the midst of a revolution. Customer expectations evolve as new platforms emerge and quickly become part of mainstream culture. With Artificial Intelligence (AI), those waves of change are coming even faster. I find it deeply rewarding to empower customers—and family and friends—cut through the noise and unlock their full potential with these complex tools.

Rapid change can be challenging for software engineers and other technical professionals, and I've certainly felt that myself. By grounding myself in the fundamentals of quality software development—and still fueled by my original curiosity for technology—I remain energized by today's challenges in this field.

What I've been doing

My career has given me the opportunity to develop and ship meaningful products across industries including Aerospace & Defense, Energy & Manufacturing, and Finance. Today, I'm privileged to work on .NET Developer Tools at Microsoft, where I focus on simplifying developers' everyday tasks while addressing modern challenges such as reliability, scalability, and secure dependency management.

The world I see

In addition to my work at Microsoft, I’m currently pursuing coursework in an AI in Medicine program to deepen my understanding of how artificial intelligence can transform healthcare and related fields.
